Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage to discuss Carbon and Energy within the Construction Industry

The Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, 5 April, to discuss Carbon and Energy within the Construction Industry.

The meeting at 3pm in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House will hear from Officials from Department of Environment, Climate and Communications and representatives from Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI).

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Steven Matthews said: “The Committee welcomes this opportunity to discuss how the construction industry can contribute to a low carbon, zero emissions economy and society over the coming decades. We look forward to hearing from the Department officials and the representatives of the SEAI on how the construction of new energy efficient offices, homes and other buildings, and retrofit of existing buildings can form part of Ireland’s future Circular Economy.”

The Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.

The meeting in Committee Room 3 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.
