Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Kathleen Funchion TD said “our meeting comes just after Minister O’Brien invited applications to the Communities Integration Fund 2023 last week. €500,000 has been made available to local community-based projects nationwide to support the integration of migrants.

We will look to get first-hand insights on issues impacting refugees when they seek to access services. Ireland has demonstrated its support for all refugees coming to our country from across the world long before the war in Ukraine started last year. We continue to stand ready to provide all the support and necessary resources for people looking for sanctuary and safety in Ireland.”
