The Joint Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement will meet on Thursday October 10th to discuss women and constitutional change.

The meeting will take place in Committee Room 4 of Leinster House between 09:30-12:30.

The following representatives are due to appear:

•    Orla O'Connor, Director and Rachel Coyle, Head of Campaigns and Mobilisation - the National Women’s Council,
•    Reverend Karen Sethuraman
•    Andrée Murphy, Deputy Director, Relatives for Justice

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Fergus O’Dowd said: “We look forward to resuming our discussions on women and constitutional change with a diverse range of representatives.”

“Any future debate on Ireland’s constitutional future must be broad and inclusive. It is clear from all of the discussions we have had to date that women’s voices and experiences must be at the heart of any conversation about the future of the island.”
