Joint Committee on Children, Equality, Disability, Integration & Youth meets to resume scrutiny on the Commission for Future Generations Bill 2023

The Committee will resume their scrutiny on the Commission for Future Generations Bill 2023 [PMB]. The Committee will hear from:

·       Marc Ó Cathasaigh, TD

·       Representatives from National Youth Council of Ireland, Valerie Duffy, Global Youth Work Programme Manager, and Diandra Ní Bhuachalla, Project Officer Youth2030 Global Youth Work.

Speaking ahead of the meeting Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Claire Kerrane TD said “The Committee continues its work this afternoon looking the Commission for Future Generations Bill 2023. The main aim of this legislation is to establish an independent commission for future generations. The commission will report on how best to establish an office of ombudsman for future generations, which would act as a guardian of the interests of future generations of Ireland.”
