Joint Committee on Public Petitions and the Ombudsmen meets to discuss Petitions

The Joint Committee on Public Petitions and the Ombudsmen chaired by Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Louise O’Reilly meets tomorrow, Tuesday, 10th June 2025 at 11am in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House. 

 

Among the Petitions to be discussed tomorrow are:

·       Allow Irish people abroad their voting rights

·       Changes to citizenship legislation

·       Travel grievance for short stay and tourism purpose within CTA for residents

·       To give practical application to the right not to attend religious instruction in school

·       A Call to Ban Election Posters in Ireland

·       Justice & Safety

·       Amend Child Care Act 1991 to provide HIQA with the necessary powers to sanction Tusla, Child and Family Agency when it fails to meet its statutory obligations

·       Reform of Insurance for Thatched Heritage Properties

·       Justice for those abused in the homes run by the State
