Joint Committee on Key Issues affecting the Traveller Community to discuss current funding strategy for Traveller-specific accommodation

The Joint Committee on Key Issues affecting the Traveller Community will meet tomorrow, Thursday, 19 June, to discuss the current funding strategy for Traveller-specific accommodation and other related matters.

The meeting in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House will be split into two sessions:

12:30pm – Officials from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage;

1:45pm – Representatives from the Local Government Management Agency (LGMA).

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy George Lawlor said: “A key focus for this Committee is the development and delivery of suitable accommodation for the Traveller Community. Members look forward to hearing updates on the current funding strategy for this programme from the Department, which manages funding and policy matters, and the LGMA on behalf of local authorities which have responsibility for delivery of projects.”

The Joint Committee on Key Issues affecting the Traveller Community has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
