Joint Committee on Social Protection, Rural and Community Development calls for submissions as part of its pre-Budget scrutiny process

19 Jun 2025, 15:30

As part of its pre-Budget scrutiny process, the Joint Committee on Social Protection, Rural and Community Development is inviting written submissions from Members of the Public, Stakeholders and interested parties.

The Joint Committee chaired by Deputy John Paul O’Shea will examine the overall fiscal position, public expenditure policy, exchequer receipts policy, and matters which have a significant impact on the budgetary position or fiscal policy of both Departments.

The Joint Committee will consider any suitable written submissions received and may decide to invite a number of contributors to public hearings, should it be considered necessary.

The submissions received will feed into the budgetary processes of both the Department of Social Protection and the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht.

The closing date for receipt of submissions is 5pm on Monday, 30 June 2024.

Queries regarding the written submissions can be sent to the Joint Committee on Social Protection, Rural and Community Development by email at sprcd@oireachtas.ie.

The Joint Committee on Social Protection, Rural and Community Development has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
