Joint Committee on Further & Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science meets for engagement on Apprenticeships

The Joint Committee on Further & Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science chaired by Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Erin McGreehan meets tomorrow, Thursday 9th October at 9:30am for engagement on Apprenticeships in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House. 

The Joint Committee on Further & Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science chaired by Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Erin McGreehan meets tomorrow, Thursday 9th October at 9:30am for engagement on Apprenticeships in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House. 

The meeting will hear from representatives from:
•    Irish Congress of Trade Unions
•    Connect Trade Union
•    Aontas na Mac Léinn in Éirinn

“We welcome representatives from ICTU, Connect and Aontas na Mac Léinn in Éirinn. This engagement will allow us get a broader sense of apprenticeships and how the industry representative trade unions view these schemes. We will look to those attending to provide us with a deeper understanding of how apprenticeships are utilised and what they believe can be implemented to augment them in order to fully empower apprentices.

"This meeting follows successful engagements that looked at the Action Plan for Apprenticeships 2021 -2025 with Solas and Education and Training Boards Ireland.” 

The Joint Committee on Further & Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
