4 Nov 2025, 16:01

The Joint Committee on Infrastructure and National Development Plan Delivery will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 5th November to discuss the role of the private sector construction industry in delivering high quality infrastructure, enabling housing delivery.

Speaking ahead of the meeting at 3:30pm in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Seán Fleming said: "Tomorrow, we meet with three representative bodies in the area of housing delivery in Ireland. We will look to the Construction Industry Federation, Ballymore and Glenveagh Homes to outline in greater detail the issues that they see in the future delivery of housing.

“Our focus has constantly been on the delivery of the National Development Plan and Ireland’s large-scale capital projects. Our remit is to scrutinise and analyse all that goes into the planning, staging and ultimately bringing to fruition of all major projects in Ireland. With the government's commitment to housing in Project Ireland 2040, the private sector is expected to contribute significantly to achieving the country's housing and infrastructure goals. We will use tomorrow’s meeting to get more practical information from the people on the ground delivering houses as to how this will be achieved.”

The meeting in Committee Room 1 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.

The Committee on Infrastructure and National Development Plan Delivery has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
