The Joint Committee on Education and Youth will meet tomorrow, Thursday, 4 December, to discuss the Recruitment and Retention of Teachers to Alleviate Shortages in Supply.
The meeting at 9:30am in Committee Room 1, Leinster House will hear from officials from the Department of Education and Youth.
Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Cathal Crowe said: “Recruitment, retention and supply of teachers are significant challenges for schools. The Committee looks forward to hearing an update from the Department officials on measures being taken to increase the supply of new teachers and retain those already working in our schools.”
The Joint Committee on Education on Youth has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
