Speaking ahead of the meeting, Cathaoirleach of the Committee, Deputy Cormac Devlin TD said, “UNISON is a longstanding champion of the Peace Process with particular emphasis on the key role of quality public services in delivering the commitments on equality and human rights enshrined in the Good Friday Agreement.”
“Tomorrow’s meeting will look at the work carried out by UNISON in the health and social care area. UNISON has a long commitment of promoting North South partnerships on health. The health and social services system in the North, for decades, has championed a partnership approach, proposing real change based on the needs of patients, service users and staff and rallying civil society organisations to promote stakeholder engagement and foster an inclusive environment where all voices are heard.”
