Joint Committee on Public Petitions and the Ombudsmen meets to discuss Petitions

The Joint Committee on Public Petitions and the Ombudsmen chaired by Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Louise O’Reilly meets in 3 sessions tomorrow, Tuesday, 30th June 2026 from 6pm in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House.

The meeting in 3 sessions will discuss the following Petitions: 

Session 1 – 6:30pm-7:15pm
Public Petition No. P00085/25 - Equality for Parenting Standards in Ireland around Benefits with stakeholder Mr. Shane Cusack

Session 2 – 7:15pm-8pm
Public Petition No. P00085/25 - Equality for Parenting Standards in Ireland around Benefits, with the Department of Social Protection

Session 3 – 8pm – 8:30pm
Consideration of Public Petition No. P00016/26 - Amend Learner Driver Accompaniment Requirements
Consideration of Public Petition No. P00027/26 - Make Social Media Illegal for Under 16s
Consideration of Public Petition No. P00028/26 - Social Media Ban for Under 16s
Consideration of Public Petition No. P00030/26 - Enact the Control of Economic Activity (Occupied Territories) Bill 2018
Consideration of Public Petition No. P00037/26 - A Good Friday for the Kurdish 'Troubles'
