13 Jul 2026, 15:53

The Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, 14 July, to discuss the operations of Circle Voluntary Housing Association with stakeholders.

The meeting at 3pm in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House will be split into two sessions:
3pm – Representatives from Circle Voluntary Housing Association;

4:15pm – Officials from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Approved Housing Bodies Regulatory Authority and Housing Finance Agency.

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Micheál Carrigy said: “Circle Voluntary Housing Association is one of Ireland’s leading approved housing bodies, providing social and affordable housing solutions to individuals and families across the country. The organisation works in partnership with local authorities, state agencies, developers and funding bodies to deliver, manage and maintain high-quality homes while supporting sustainable and inclusive communities.

“Recently concerns have come to light with a Standards Assessment undertaken by the Approved Housing Bodies Regulatory Authority raising issues with governance, financial and property and asset management standards at Circle. The Committee looks forward to discussing these and related matters with the representatives from Circle VHA, Department officials and our other stakeholders.”

The Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.

The meeting in Committee Room 3 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
