Submitting questions

The Questions Office is responsible for matters connected with parliamentary questions, including publication of the Questions Paper.

Email

Members should email their questions to the Questions Office at pqs@oireachtas.ie.

Questions submitted in hard copy format are no longer accepted. Members are asked to please adhere to the following:

  • Members must email their questions from their official Oireachtas email address only, and not private email accounts, such as Gmail.
  • No single email should contain more than ten questions maximum, any greater volume than this greatly increases the risk of processing errors.
  • Inclusion of personal data, and document attachments, should be kept to the absolute minimum necessary.

Questions format

Questions should be addressed to the appropriate Minister, be as brief as possible and avoid argument or personal imputation.

Questions will often contain personal data on constituents and so on, and this should not be included in the main body of the question. Instead, it should be entered into a separate "details supplied" field.

Examples
