Minister of State at the Department of Finance (Mr. N....The level of ACC's annual lending rose from nearly £5 million in 1965 to just over £17 million in 1972...The Agricultural Credit Act, 1965, enabled the ACC to take deposits from the public....in respect of which the Minister for Finance may guarantee the corporation against losses....I commend the Bill for the approval of the House.

As far back as 1965 we advocated an incomes policy....It is a pity that the Government did not introduce an incomes policy back in 1965....Those two Bills came before this House....I defy the present Minister for Finance to say that it is not true that Deputy Lemass, when he was leader...I ask the Minister for Finance is it not true that the then leader of the Opposition said this?

Jago The Finance Bill is the legal instrument which puts into practice the tax proposals in the budget...in the Seanad and I looked up the Seanad Official Report of the debate on the 1977 Finance Bill on 26...I agree that this is the way to proceed to discuss a Finance Bill, but I would amend that statement in...That is not a good indicator because in the last two periods from 1961 to 1965 and 1965 to 1971 the same...There are other things in the Finance Bill which we welcome.
