7 Dec 2005 - In the past all of us were good samaritans....That was all good samaritan work and that was how we lived at that time....He does not seem to know what the parable of the good Samaritan was about....That is what a good samaritan does....However, he did not act as the good samaritan.

6 Dec 2005 - Ms Lynch All I say to the Minister is that the Good Samaritan Bill is so called for a very good reason...It should engender in all of us the need to do good....level of enlightenment, or that he ever will, but he should at least be tolerant and recognise that the Bill...In a different context, the Bill is about protecting people who still have that spirit within them and...We all recognise the value of people who care for their neighbours, who are good samaritans.

7 Dec 2005 - The Good Samaritan Bill sounds like apple pie, motherhood or the flag....to people in drafting Bills....They give their services for free out of the goodness of their own hearts....However, in the event of something happening, a doctor may consider, in view of the good samaritan legislation...samaritan legislation.

6 Dec 2005 - The Government does not accept Bills proposed by the Opposition, except on rare occasions....I listened on the monitor to the Minister's interpretation of the last line of the Bill....There is no need for a Good Samaritan Bill in his view because he regularly stops on his way home to...necessary to have legislation to protect people who come to the aid of others in distress in the Ireland of 2005

7 Dec 2005 - I welcome the opportunity to speak on this Bill....December is a time when we think and talk about being good samaritans and looking after our neighbours...The issue of the law on rescuers or good samaritans was considered in the context of the preparation...There is an absence of law on rescuers or good samaritans and any change would clearly need careful consideration...of kindness towards neighbours and being good samaritans in general.

7 Dec 2005 - He could have spoken for 30 seconds and been a good samaritan by thanking Deputy Timmins for introducing...his Bill....Although the Minister had a script he did not speak to it but instead lacerated Deputy Timmins and the good...The Minister was not a good enough samaritan to see that and I am ashamed of him.

6 Dec 2005 - Timmins The purpose of the Good Samaritan Bill 2005 is to protect from liability those who go to the...There are three areas open for consideration when considering the legal concept of the good samaritan...samaritan and the liability or risk assumed by a good samaritan....We need to ensure the virtue of the good samaritan concept carries over to our legal system....I hope he will also make a recommendation similar to the Good Samaritan Bill.

6 Dec 2005 - That seems far more barbaric than any deficiencies in this Bill....The law could state or clarify that instead of immunity, where a person provides good samaritan assistance...samaritan....Such changes as these would ensure that good samaritans are not penalised for acting as such and would...I commend Deputy Timmins for initiating the Bill.
