Business of Committee

We have received apologies from Deputies Dillon, MacSharry, Hourigan. Deputy McAuliffe may join us later, but he is at another committee meeting. I welcome everyone to our online meeting. Due to the current situation with Covid-19, only the clerk, support staff and I are in the committee room. Members of the committee are attending remotely from within the precincts of the Leinster House. This is due to the constitutional requirement that in order to participate in public meetings members must be physically present within the confines of the place Parliament has chosen, namely, Leinster House. I ask Members to confirm their location before contributing to ensure we are adhering to the constitutional requirement. The Comptroller and Auditor General, Mr. Seamus McCarthy, is a permanent witness to the committee and he is joining us remotely.

Before we begin our engagement with witnesses, we considered the minutes of our meeting of 11 March at our private meeting of 31 March. Standing Order 107(3) requires that the minutes are agreed in a public session. Are those minutes agreed? Agreed. As previously agreed, the minutes will be published on the committee's website.
