Vol. F No. 3

AMENDMENTS TO STANDING ORDERS. - AMENDMENT TO STANDING ORDER 13.

GABHAN O DUBHTHAIGH (Dublin Co., South) moved and EAMONN DE VALERA (East Clare) seconded that:—
"Standing Order 13 be amended by striking out the present text and substituting the following clause:—‘Until normal Government is established, Dáil shall meet in private and strangers shall be excluded, except that a visitor may at any time be invited to be present by the Chairman and that accredited representatives of the Press may be present whenever Dáil shall by resolution have determined to sit in Public Session.'"
This motion was withdrawn and the following amendment was, on the motion of COUNTESS MARKIEVICZ (St. Patrick's), seconded by JAMES O'MARA (S. Kilkenny), passed, viz.:—
"That Standing Order No. 13 be amended by transposition (i.e., that it should read): ‘Visitors introduced by a Deputy and authorised representatives of the Press may be present during the sitting of the Dáil, unless the Dáil by resolution or the Chairman otherwise determine.'"
