RESUMPTION. - DEPARTMENT OF LABOUR.
The SECRETARY FOR LABOUR read the Report of the Department of Labour. A Scheme had been evolved for setting up Conciliation Boards to settle disputes between Local Councils and their employees. Copies of this Scheme had been sent to all Public Bodies and to Labour Organisations. She asked the Deputies to furnish the Department with names of persons from their constituencies who would be willing to act as Chairmen of Conciliation Boards, or as Arbitrators in ordinary Labour disputes. A list of settlements effected to date was also submitted.
She moved the adoption of the Report.
