ESTIMATES FOR HALF-YEAR Ended 30th June, 1921.

The MINISTER FOR FINANCE asked for permission to take up the Estimates at this stage.

The MINISTER FOR FINANCE mentioned that the following alterations were rendered necessary in the Estimates as presented in Appendix D. of his Report:—

Local Government Increase of	£1,500
Propaganda Increase of	5,000
Home Affairs ,, ,,	5,500
Finance ,, ,,	400
Belfast Boycott Vote of	2,500
Local Government Vote for Loan to Councils	100,000
Contingency Fund	25,000

At the suggestion of the PRESIDENT a sum of £5,000 was added to cover organising expenses, etc., in connection with the North-East Ulster elections.

At the request of the ASSISTANT MINISTER FOR IRISH a vote of £5,000 for the Department of Irish was included.

The estimates as amended, amounting in all to £185,900, were then proposed by the MINISTER FOR FINANCE, seconded by LIAM DE ROISTE (Cork City), and unanimously approved. The amended Estimates are as follows:—

3. Fisheries	300
4. Labour	300
5. Local Government, allowing for Inspectors, etc.	5,500
6. Propaganda	7,000
7. Trade (a) Consular Services	6,000

10. Deputies' Travelling Expenses	200
11. Ministerial Payments	2,500
12. Staff Payments	3,000
13. Secretariat—ordinary work of the Department	500
14. Provision for sundry items	1,000
15. Irish	5,000
16. Belfast Boycott	2,500
17. N.E. Ulster Elections and
Organisers' Expenses	5,000
18. Local Government—Loans to Public Bodies on the terms indicated in the Report of that Department	100,000
19. Contingency Fund	25,000
