DEBATES ON REPORTS. - LOCAL GOVERNMENT.
The adoption of the Report of the Department of Local Government was proposed by the MINISTER FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT and seconded by J.N. DOLAN (Leitrim).
The MINISTER FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT said there was one point to which he would like to draw attention. If it were desirable to continue the stoppage of roadwork he thought that the tillage scheme submitted by the Director of Agriculture at a previous Session to provide employment for the road men should be started next September or October when most of the local bodies would have some funds to start the scheme.
