To ask the Minister for Industry and Commerce if and when the work of the Canal Commission will be resumed, whether or not any change has taken place in the personnel or terms of reference of the Commission, and when it is expected to furnish the Dáil with a report of its recommendations.
CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - THE CANAL COMMISSION.
It is intended that the Canal Commission should resume its work as soon as it has been reconstituted. This is necessary owing to the retirement of a member on appointment to the Ministry of Finance. No alteration is contemplated in the terms of reference. It is not possible at present to anticipate when the Commission will be in a position to report.
