To ask the Minister for Finance if he will consider the advisability of abolishing the licence on motor vehicles and of imposing the tax on petrol or motor spirit.

I would refer the Deputy to a previous answer given on the 5th instant to a somewhat similar question. It is not possible at present to abolish the licences on motor vehicles and impose a tax on petrol or motor spirit, but that matter would come up when the Budget is being introduced.
