Vol. 1 No. 28

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - MAYO YOUTH'S ARREST.

To ask the Minister for Defence if he is aware that James Watters, of Annefield, Hollymount, Co. Mayo, was arrested at his ordinary business and is since detained at Athlone; whether this boy has stated that he had no connection with the Irregulars, and has signed the usual declaration not to take up arms against the Government forces; whether his statements have been vouched for by his parish priest and other local clergymen, and whether, in view of the fact that he is now the only son left to work his mother's farm (she being a widow), he will order this prisoner's immediate release?

Mr. Watters was released on the 31st October, 1922.
