To ask the Minister for Local Government whether any, and if so, what steps have been taken to set up an Irish Civil Service Commission, and whether it is proposed to establish a Civil Service in which will be included the employees of Local Authorities.
CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION.
The question as to the setting up of an Irish Civil Service Commission is a matter for the Minister of Finance. The proposal to include appointments made by local authorities within the scope of a Civil Service scheme will be carefully considered in connection with forthcoming legislation concerning local authorities.
