Vol. 1 No. 32

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - SHOOTING IN CO. CORK.

To ask the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that during the week ending 11th November, 1922, Jeremiah Herlihy, Curragh, Inchigeela, was fired on by National Troops and seriously wounded. That Herlihy was employed by a Mr. J. Kelleher, Glebe, Inchigeela, at threshing when he was fired on, and whether there was a reason for firing, and if so will he state the reason.

Mr. Herlihy was caught between two fires—that of our troops in an armoured car and that of the Irregulars—during an ambush. He was not threshing at the time. He is unable to state who hit him. It is understood that he was only slightly wounded.
