Vol. 1 No. 32

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF RECENT TROUBLES.

To ask the Minister for Finance if he will state what steps, if any, have been taken to deal with claims for loss of life and destruction of property, etc., during the recent troubles?

The proposals of the Government in this matter are being embodied in a Bill which it is proposed to bring before the Oireachtas as soon as possible. In the meantime, in accordance with the resolution adopted by the Dáil on the first of this month, a public notice was issued on the 21st inst., giving directions in regard to the submission of claims for post-Truce damage to property. Special claim forms, as indicated in the public notice, are now obtainable from the Secretaries of County Councils, and Town Clerks of County Boroughs.
