Vol. 2 No. 21

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - A DISMISSED SAVINGS BANK OFFICIAL.

To ask the Minister for Finance whether he has considered the claim of Anna Gilmore, dismissed from the Savings Bank Department, London, on refusal to take the Oath of Allegiance, placed before the Provisional Government so long ago as last February, for reinstatement and compensation, and then promised immediate attention; and what he now proposes to do in the matter?

The claims for re-instatement in the public service of Civil Servants who, like Miss Gilmore, were serving in England when the alleged victimisation took place, are to be examined by a Committee shortly to be set up.

I may add that Miss Gilmore was offered, and declined, temporary employment in the Irish Post Office.
