To ask the President, in view of the fact that the Port of Derry has been closed for the shipment of live stock, and the grave injury thus done to those parts of the Free State of which Derry is the only available port, whether he has made, or will make, firm representations to the British Government on the matter, with a view to getting the closure removed.

The Government has all along been in touch with the position in Derry, and the steps to be taken are under consideration. If the Deputy would kindly place at the disposal of the Government any firm representations made to him it is possible that further advantage might be derived from the information.
