Vol. 2 No. 33

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - TEACHER'S ARREST.

To ask the Minister for Defence if he is aware that Mr. Michael Griffin, National Teacher, Listowel, was arrested at his own house on January 27th, and taken to Limerick Prison, where he is still detained; will he state the grounds on which this man was arrested, is it proposed to formulate a charge against him, or, if not, will the Minister give instructions for his immediate release.

I am aware that Mr. Griffin was arrested as stated. He was one of the principal propagandists in his area for the Irregulars. It is intended to formulate a charge against him and to put him on trial.
