Vol. 2 No. 40

[WRITTEN ANSWERS.] - DEPENDANTS' ALLOWANCE.

To ask the Minister for Defence whether a dependent's allowance has yet been paid to the mother of John Brennan (10026), of Society Street, Ballinasloe, who joined the National Army on February 22nd, 1922, and who is at present stationed in Dunmanway, Co. Cork, and, if same is not yet paid, will he take steps to have settlement of the claim expedited.

Dependents' allowance has not been paid to Mrs. Brennan for the reason that no application has been received. On the information given in the question the case is being investigated urgently.

The first business on the Orders for the Day is the Report Stage of the "Local Government (Temporary Provisions) Bill, 1923."
