UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE BILL, 1923. - FIFTH STAGE.

I move "That the Unemployment Insurance Bill, 1923, be now passed."

Can we have the information as to when the Minister thinks that the Bill will be passed into law, and when the Benefits will be available, because numbers of people are really in a bad way?

It will be necessary for the Seanad to take the Statutory Undertakings Bill before the 1st of June, because Bill No. 1 expires then.

Mr. WHELEHAN

We hope that the Seanad will have the Statutory Undertakings Bill and the Unemployment Insurance Bill on the same day, and before the 1st June.

Mr. JOHNSON

The present intention is not to meet in Whit Week.
