As a result of the preliminary investigation made last year by a Departmental Committee, 114 officers were reinstated. 288 cases remained and have been considered by the Advisory Committee whose appointment I announced in the Dáil on the 23rd February, 1923, and as a result of the Advisory Committee's inquiry 34 further officers have been reinstated, making the total number of reinstatements up to date, 148. Of the balance of the 254 cases, about 70 cases are still under consideration and the rest have been rejected.
