Vol. 5 No. 14

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - REPRESENTATION ON WAR GRAVES COMMISSION.

asked the Minister for External Affairs whether, in view of the fact that nearly 50,000 Irishmen were killed in the European War, he will make representations to the British Government that a representative of the Saorstát should be appointed to the Imperial War Graves Commission.

The question of appointing a representative to the War Graves Commission is under consideration, and it is hoped that a final decision will soon be reached.

Arising out of that answer, is the Minister aware that Canada, Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand are represented by their High Commissioners on this Commission?

I am aware of that.
