Vol. 6 No. 4

DAIL IN COMMITTEE. - REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON WIRELESS BROADCASTING.

Special Committee to consider the Report of the Postmaster-General entitled "Wireless Broadcasting."
(1) This Committee was appointed by Order of the Dáil, dated 14th December, 1923, in the following terms:—
"That a Committee of this Dáil be appointed to consider the Circular addressed to Deputies entitled `Wireless Broadcasting,' especially in regard to the proposal by which it is intended that the State should pass over the right to license and tax incoming wireless apparatus to a Clearing House under the control of a private company; and it was further ordered that the Committee report back to the Dáil not later than January 16th, 1924."
(2) The Committee held a preliminary meeting, followed by three prolonged meetings, and, having taken the above resolution into consideration, decided that they could not present a full and satisfactory Report on it before the date named.
(3) The Committee beg to report this decision and to ask the Dáil to extend the time available for the enquiry to the 31st January, 1924.
