Vol. 6 No. 16

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - JAMES'S STREET HARBOUR ROADWAY.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the very dangerous condition of the roadway from James's Street Harbour to the third Grand Canal Lock, and that this public thoroughfare is not in charge of the Dublin Corporation, and if the necessary steps will be taken to remedy the long-standing public grievance, and consider the possibility of including such works within the scope of the Government Road Grant by arrangement with the Grand Canal Company or otherwise?

The replies to the first and second parts of the question are in the affirmative. The Government Road Grant is applicable only to the improvement of public roads, but I will look further into the matter of how an improvement may be effected in the condition of this road.
