Vol. 7 No. 7

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - CO. CAVAN ACCOUNTS AGAINST ARMY.

SEAN MAC GIOLLA 'N RIOGH

asked the Minister for Defence if he will expedite the payment of account due to Mr. James Maguire, Raffney, Virginia Post Office, Co. Cavan, of £4 5s. Od. for turf and potatoes supplied to Virginia Barracks.

Mr. Maguire has been requested to furnish details of his claim, and on receipt of the required particulars its settlement will be expedited.

SEAN MAC GIOLLA 'N RIOGH

asked the Minister for Defence if he can state the reasons for the delay in settling the account of Mr. Richard Veitch, Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan, of £48 9s. 2d., which account has been due for months and repeatedly furnished, and if he will see that payment of same is made forthwith.

A payable order for £23 9s. Od. was sent to Mr. Veitch on the 15th March in settlement of a portion of his claim amounting to £34 11s. Od. He states that he did not receive it. Arrangements are, therefore, being made to stop payment on that order, and a fresh order for the same amount is being issued to him.

Particulars of Mr. Veitch's full account were only received on the 13th instant. They are now under investigation with a view to an early settlement of the whole account.
