asked the Minister for Finance if the claim for pension or gratuity of Timothy Murphy, ex-constable, R.I.C., formerly stationed at Robertstown, Co. Kildare, and who resigned from the force in July, 1920, has been brought to his notice, and whether he will give favourable consideration to the matter.
CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CONSTABLE'S PENSION CLAIM.
The applicant failed to prove to the satisfaction of the Committee of Inquiry into resignations and dismissals from the Royal Irish Constabulary that his resignation was caused by national sympathies, and I cannot agree to the issue of a certificate under Section 5 of the Superannuation and Pensions Act which would render him eligible for a pension.
