Vol. 7 No. 17

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - COROFIN CLAIM FOR SHOOTING BY MILITARY.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the amount of the award to the next-of-kin of the late Albert O'Brien, in respect of his death at the hands of soldiers of the National Army, at Lemanagh Castle, Corofin, Co. Clare, on the 10th February, 1923.

An ex-gratia payment of £20 was made to the next-of-kin of the late Mr. Albert O'Brien on the 12th instant.

Arising out of that reply, could the Minister tell me what considerations influenced the Ministry in giving this meagre award?

The Deputy will have to give me notice of that question. I have not the particulars of the case here.
