CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - LAND COMMISSION PROSECUTIONS IN CO. DONEGAL.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he will state what number of processes has been issued by the State Solicitor for Co. Donegal at suit of Land Commission as plaintiffs for coming June Quarter Sessions for (1) seventy-five per cent. compounded arrears of one year's rent, (2) two half-year's payment in lieu of rent, viz., 1st November, 1923, and 1st May, 1924, (3) one half-year's payment in lieu of rent, viz., 1st May, 1924, (4) for compounded arrears of rent and payment in lieu of rent already paid, (5) approximate costs of processes before and after entry.

Mr. HOGAN

The Land Commission have instructed the State Solicitor in the case of 538 tenants to recover payment in lieu of rent due by them under the Land Act, 1923, in respect of the second gale of 1923. The Land Commission is not in a position at present to say in how many of these cases the State Solicitor has found it necessary to issue processes in the County Court, nor can they state the amounts of the costs paid by the parties before and after entry. The State Solicitor has been asked for the detailed particulars sought for in the question.
