Vol. 7 No. 29

DAIL IN COMMITTEE. - ESTIMATES.

It has been suggested to me that it might be as well not to take the Estimates this evening, and to begin them after question time to-morrow. I am agreeable to go on, but if there is a desire to that effect, I think it might be as well to take them after questions to-morrow.

I think it is quite evident Deputies are not ready to proceed with the Estimates to-night.

The Minister suggests that they should be taken after question time to-morrow. The Order Paper for to-morrow contains: The Telephone Capital Bill, The Trade Loans Guarantee Bill, The Fisheries (Election of Conservators Postponement) Bill, and The Military Service Pensions Bill, all in the Second Stage, and, in addition, the Local Elections Postponement (Amendment) Bill, which is also in the Second Stage. This is really the only one that stands in the way.

It is a Bill on which there will be considerable discussion, I imagine.

As this Bill has lost its place I certainly would take the Estimates before it to-morrow.

I move that the Dáil do now adjourn.

Question put, and agreed to.
The Dáil adjourned at 8.30 p.m. until 3 o'clock on Wednesday, 25th June.
