Vol. 7 No. 30

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CLOSING OF CAMP FIELD, MULLINGAR.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that the Camp Field, Mullingar, has been closed from the public by instructions from General Headquarters; and whether, as this field has been used for football practice for the past twenty years by the people of the town, instructions will be given which will afford the same facilities to the people.

It was found necessary to enclose the Camp Field at Mullingar in order to prevent its becoming a common, and to protect adjacent Army property which was being damaged by persons who had free access to the field. Its use for sports purposes by the local people is permitted at any time they apply for it to the Officer Commanding the Barracks.
