WRITTEN ANSWERS. - COMPENSATION CLAIM (BALLYHAUNIS).

asked the Minister for Finance whether a claim for compensation has been received from Mrs. Mary Johnson, of Upper Main Street, Ballyhaunis, on account of the death of her husband, Edward Johnson, which occurred on December 21st, 1920, as a result of beating and general ill-treatment received from British Forces on October 16th, 1920; whether an award has yet been made in this case, and, if not, whether he will take steps to have a settlement of the case expedited.

The application referred to by the Deputy has been received, and will be listed for hearing at an early date by the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee during the course of their next sittings at a centre in County Mayo.
