CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DRAINING TURBARY LAND.
SEAN O LAIDHIN
MINISTER for INDUSTRY and COMMERCE (Mr. McGilligan) (on behalf of the Minister for Local Government and Public Health)
It is not proposed to make any grants to private owners for the purpose of draining turbary land. The Drainage Maintenance Bill, recently introduced, proposes to empower the Commissioners of Public Works to execute such works of repair, etc., as they may consider necessary in existing drainage districts, including the draining of turbary land in those districts, and the manner in which the cost of such work is to be met is set out in the Bill.
