Vol. 8 No. 13

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - A LIFFORD ARMY ACCOUNT.

asked the Minister for Defence whether an amount of £105 4s. 8d. is due by the Department to Mr. James Bryson, of Lifford, for goods supplied from March to October, 1922, on the authority of the Divisional Quartermaster, Drumboe Castle; whether this account has been furnished by Mr. Bryson and his solicitors, Messrs. Wilson and Simms, on the following dates: August, 1923, 6th September, 1923, 3rd October, 1923, 15th October, 1923, 10th November, 1923, 5th December, 1923, 2nd January, 1924, 11th June, 1924, and whether in April, 1924, the Claims Officer, Donegal Command, called on Mr. Bryson and stated that full particulars of his claim had now been forwarded to the Claims Department, Portobello Barracks, and that payment might be expected in about two weeks, and whether he will expedite payment of this amount.

The amount mentioned as being due to Mr. Bryson appears to be in respect of accounts which have been settled. Applications for payment have been made on various dates. The Claims Officer of the Donegal Command did call on Mr. Bryson in April last, but the particulars subsequently furnished to Headquarters were not sufficient to enable the matter to be adjusted. With a view to an expeditious conclusion of the case a detailed statement is being furnished to Mr. Bryson in respect of all payments which have been made to him.
