Vol. 8 No. 17

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - MOTORS REGISTERED IN WATERFORD.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the number of motor vehicles registered, and the amounts received by way of licence duty therefor in the city of Waterford, the urban area of Dungarvan, and the County of Waterford, respectively, during the last two years.

The number of motor vehicles registered under the Roads Act, 1920, during the two years ended the 30th ultimo is, approximately, 311 in the City of Waterford and 417 in the County of Waterford. According to the records in the Department of Local Government the amount received by way of licence duties during that period is £6,185 15s. and £7,677 7s. 6d. respectively.

I am not in a position to give separately the figures for the urban area of Dungarvan, as the County Council is the Registration Authority for the whole of the county area, excluding the County Borough, and separate registers and accounts are not kept for the Urban District.
