Vol. 8 No. 17

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - AN ARMY ACCOUNT.

asked the Minister for Defence whether an application has been received from Mr. P.C. Gilmore, draper, etc., Mountbellew, for £22 15s. 6d. balance due on account of goods supplied to National soldiers stationed at Mountbellew; whether this claim has been investigated, and if so, whether he can say how soon payment will be made.

An application was received in the Department of Defence on the 18th instant from Mr. Gilmore for payment of £22 15s. 6d. in respect of boots and clothes ordered from him by soldiers who, it is understood, made some payments at the time. The transactions were private ones, and involve no charge on public funds.
