Vol. 9 No. 12

CEISTEANNA.—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - UNEMPLOYMENT GRANTS.

TOMAS MAC EOIN

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he can arrange that local authorities, in the expenditure of grants for the relief of unemployment, will give special consideration to the claims of single men with dependants as well as of married men.

When notification of the making of a relief grant to a local authority is made they are asked to bear in mind that the grant is primarily for the relief of unemployment and that they should endeavour to secure that families most in need should benefit.
