Particulars of the proposal of the Board of Guardians of Balrothery Union to grant a superannuation allowance to their former midwife, Miss Howard, now Mrs. O'Leary, were not received in this Department until the 3rd ultimo. The Guardians were then asked to forward to this office the original medical certificate as to the state of her health. This certificate was received only on the 30th ultimo, and the matter is at present under consideration. A decision will be arrived at as soon as possible.
