Vol. 9 No. 21

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - COMPENSATION CLAIM FOR DESTROYED DWELLING.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he can expedite the hearing of the claim of Colonel E. H. Pickwood, Butlerstown House, Glanmire, Co. Cork, for compensation for the total destruction of his dwelling-house and out-offices on March 17th, 1923, and if he will state the cause of the delay in the hearing of this claim.

I have been asked to reply to this question. I am making enquiries as to the present position of this claim, but I would remind the Deputy that the hearing of large numbers of claims for compensation must inevitably take a considerable time and that a certain amount of delay in some cases is, therefore, quite unavoidable.
